RealMe 2 With Snapdragon 450 Launched In India

The Oppo-owned brand RealMe has launched the RealMe 2 in India as a successor to the RealMe 1 launched in May. The RealMe 1 provided great performance for the price and was targeted at the enthusiastic consumers. Let’s take a look at the second generation device and see what it has to offer.

Oppo RealMe 2 Specifications:

RealMe 2

The RealMe 2 has a 6.2-inch HD+ display with 19:9 aspect ratio with a notch. Rest of the design appears to be similar to the last generation with diamond cut design on the back. The device runs on a Snapdragon 450 octa-core SOC and comes with 3/4GB of ram and 32/64GB of storage.

Dual cameras can be found on the back with 13MP+2MP resolution and support for AI beautification technology is included. The front camera is an 8MP shooter which also supports face unlock. The smartphone also has a fingerprint scanner on the back. RealMe 2 runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with Oppo’s Color OS 5.1 skin on top of it. The device houses a large 4230mAh battery but unfortunately, there is no support for fast charging and it comes with the old micro-USB port.

The most underwhelming point about this device is the processor. The RealMe 1 had a Helio P60 chip which was comparable to Snapdragon 660 in terms of performance but the Snapdragon 450 is way behind in the list and it seems like a step-down.

The display is also a big compromise with this device as it is only an HD display, unlike its predecessor. Apart from this, the device has a notch to give it a futuristic look and keeps a fingerprint scanner this time. The large battery boasts of 15hrs of video playback. The camera performance is also looking good considering the price.

RealMe 2 Price:

The RealMe 2 will be available as a Flipkart-exclusive device starting 4th September. The prices for the 3GB/32GB and 4GB/64GB variants are 8,990 INR and 10,990 INR respectively.
